BISHOP PATRICK AUGUSTINE -OCTOBER 31
Bishop Patrick Augustine, the missionary Bishop of Bor, South Sudan will be preaching, celebrating, and teaching during Forum on October 31. Bishop Augustine serves the poorest of the poor. The church school in Bor has 3,700 children – but no buildings or clean water. Bishop Augustine needs money to build a school and dig a well. Please make sure you come! You don’t want to miss this!
Many women at St. Mark’s are involved in ministry, but there is more to do. If everyone was active in a ministry here, the Holy Spirit would have many hands and hearts to use in God’s work here among us. Call Liz Schorr (321-636-6752) or Cricket Foley (321-412-6535) for questions or ideas.
On TUESDAY October 26 AT 10 AM we will have our first meeting of all who are interested in creating prayer shawls. If you knit or crochet, or want to learn, please join us in the Prayer Room. Bring your needles/crochet hooks, and maybe something you’re working on now. Yarn and patterns will be supplied.
At the September 15 ministry meeting, many ideas for ministry were discussed. If ANY of these interest you, please contact Liz Schorr (321-636-6752).
● Walking group ● Prayer shawl knitting group
● Social group for single women ● Sending cards (see article above)
● Fixing a meal for a parishioner ● Greeters at services
● Coffee Hour helpers ● Group that organizes fun activities
? other ideas ?
If you are interested in reaching out to people with a card, we have a new group forming for that. We want to send birthday cards (or calls) to parishioners celebrating birthdays, or cards to those who are on the prayer list or homebound. We have the cards, or you can supply them. We can provide the postage. This ministry should take less than an hour a week, and can be done with the group or at home. You may call Liz Schorr (321-636-6752) or Cricket Foley (321-412-6535) for more information.
