While the main outreach of St. Mark’s is the Academy, the church, from its inception, has been active in the Central Brevard Community. The church is concerned about the issue of extreme poverty.
Central Brevard Sharing Center: Several parishioners serve on the Board of this organization, whose mission is to provide emergency assistance to those who are struggling to obtain life’s most basic needs. Others volunteer in the agency’s various programs. St. Mark’s has provided financial support In addition to weekly canned good donations. Children’s Hunger Project: Two parishioners are founders of this program, which provides weekend food for children, and several members volunteer. Mbola, Tanzania: For several years, St. Mark’s provided financial assistance to this village to help them establish schools, wells for drinking water, and mosquito netting. |
